Youth Crafting Event ahead of Mother's Day
As a gesture of love this Mother's Day, the youth will gather and make handcrafted Bible bookmarks for all mothers in our congregation. The bookmark creation day is Sunday, May 3 after the worship service. A light lunch will be provided. After the craft time, the youth will then mail a bookmark to mothers in the congregation and personally deliver a bookmark to each of their own mothers. Class in Presbyterian Discipleship
What does it mean to be a member of a Presbyterian Church? We are offering a short class on Presbyterian discipleship starting Wednesday, April 22, at 5:30pm. The class will meet Wednesdays for six weeks. The topics of the class are organized around the questions we answer when we join the church, and ends with a special class about Presbyterian views of the sacraments: baptism and the Lord's Supper. Easter Egg Tree 'Grows'
Relying on a few supplies and a lot of creativity, the youth event on March 22 was a delightful time of learning the meaning and traditions of the Easter egg. Participants decorated many eggs and created an Easter Egg Tree. Cooper and Emma Portwood helped get the Easter eggs on the tree. Learning about the symbols of the Lenten season and the empty tomb was never more fun! Come see the tree and celebrate Easter with us on Sunday!
April Narthex
This month, please donate individually wrapped snacks for students in the Pauls Valley Schools' alternative education program. This helps ensure that hunger doesn't get in the way of learning! Suggested donations include peanut butter crackers, cookies, snack cakes, Cheese-Its, etc.
Adult Sunday School Begins New Series
Unlike a church service, Sunday School serves a totally different purpose. Through lively and respectful discussions, participants will learn more about the Bible and about each other. As a small group within the church, it is a way to build friendships, ask questions, and feel supported. Additionally, the experience can help develop a personal relationship with God and gives moral guidance in such subjects as how to treat others. make good choices and live with integrity. As

City Clean-Up Day
Join the city in its quest to beautify our downtown by participating in a clean-up day set for Saturday, April 11. Join a crew to dress up a bump-out section or take on another task in this annual "Keep Oklahoma Beautiful" endeavor. Work crews will be active starting at 9:00am. Holy Week Update about Communion
Our community is in the habit of celebrating communion on the first Sunday of each month, but because it is Easter and there is a lot of activity both in and around the worship service, Session has decided to NOT serve communion on the first Sunday this month. We encourage you to attend the community Maundy Thursday service on Thursday, April 2 at 6:00pm. This service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Pauls Valley, and is hosted by us, the First Presbyter
Easter Luncheon and FPC Egg Hunt
On Easter Sunday, April 5, an Easter luncheon will follow the service. If you would like to bring food, contact the church office to sign up. Then, following the meal, the youth are invited to the church's Easter Egg Hunt on the church grounds. This is an excellent time to be with your church AND your own family.
Time Change for April 4 Youth Event
Due to kids' sporting events, the time of the Saturday, April 4, Youth event -- making "Resurrection Cookies" -- is being changed to 1:00pm.
Making Good Questions about the Bible
A new evening adult Bible study group is forming starting Tuesday, April 14, at 5:30pm in the basement and then weekly. The tone of the group is exploration and inquiry. The focus of the group is to learn approaches to Bible study that empower us to ask good questions of the Bible. April Youth Event Comes Early
Our youth will meet Saturday, April 4, at 12:00pm in the church basement for a hands-on Easter activity. We will make Resurrection Cookies . Together, the youth will follow a special recipe that tells the story of Easter through each step -- from mixing the ingredients to discovering the how the "hollow" cookies symbolize Easter morning's empty tomb. There are many worship opportunities for us here at First Presbyterian Church during Holy Week.
