Aiming for Meaningful Music
Congregants may not know what all goes into effective planning for music support during worship. One key aspect of it is simply the week-to-week commitment from Steven Kennedy and the singers. Another aspect is the planning that goes into supporting the weekly worship service. The recent choir retreat set in motion a series of offertory selection and other music to be heard between now and Christmas, especially Advent.
If you haven't noticed, Steven has added the keyboard to the mix. The keyboard--situated in the choir loft--helps facilitate a more harmonious sound when the choir sings an anthem. This is another way that planning the church music program requires consideration in order to be meaningful and inspiring.
If you are interested in joining the choir, simply show up at weekly rehearsal on Wednesdays at 5:30pm or come to the choir room Sundays at 10:30am.
