Choir During the 'Dog Days of Summer'

It doesn't take much of an online search to find videos of pet owners enticing their pets to respond to music that they play or sing. Most often, a pet dog will start howling while the human is playing the piano or singing while strumming the guitar. Perhaps even more captivating is the variety of animals that become interested. There's a video of lions coming next to the wall of thick glass and making eye contact. There's one with a few parrots who light on the guitar player and stare at the fingers on the guitar strings. There's even one of a hippopotamus swimming over to the musician and resting his chin just a few feet away from the source of the music. This is a fascinating look at God's creatures -- human and otherwise -- being touched by music.


Music is a very big part of what moves people too. It's an important part of worship. Our choir will do its part to help with our worship time this coming Communion Sunday, July 5. Please join us for choir rehearsal at 5:30pm on the Wednesday before each first Sunday through the rest of the summer. Here is a table of dates:

  • Wednesday, July 1, 5:30pm - Choir Rehearsal

  • Sunday, July 5, 10:30am - warm up and rehearse for Communion Sunday.

  • Wednesday, July 29, 5:30pm - Choir Rehearsal

  • Sunday, August 2, 10:30am - warm up and rehearse for Communion Sunday.

  • Wednesday, August 26, 5:30pm - Choir Rehearsal

  • Sunday, September 6, 10:30am - warm up and rehearse for Communion Sunday.


Come to the choir room at 10:30am any Sunday to warm up and go over the hymns.
