The Ministerial Alliance Youth fund supports Pauls Valley Youth in two ways. At Christmas, we give gifts to needy kids throughout the school system. Sometimes we give restaurant gift cards or shopping cards. The idea is that kids in the school system who would get very little for Christmas get something from the Ministerial Alliance. Last year there were twenty-four $100 gifts. Then, in the spring, the M.A.Y. fund gives need-based scholarships to those who apply. Last year, there were six $600 scholarships.
Each gift or scholarship depends on how much money the Ministerial Alliance has available and how many kids are in need at the time. The main way that the Ministerial Alliance raises money for the M.A.Y. fund is through support by member churches. This Sunday, November 12, First Presbyterian Church will be collecting for the M.A.Y. fund. If you feel called to support this ministry, write a check to First Presbyterian Church, with "M.A.Y. fund" in the memo field, or use envelopes provided in the bulletin. If you wish to support this ministry, but cannot be here on Sunday, call the office to arrange to mail it in or bring it by.
