The First Christian Church, the First United Methodist Church, and we at the First Presbyterian Church will gather together for worship services during Holy Week.
Maundy Thursday, March 28, 7:00pm at the First Christian Church
Good Friday, March 29, 7:00pm at the First Presbyterian Church
The Good Friday service at our church will be a Tenebrae service, where the sanctuary gets progressively darker as candles are extinguished. Tenebrae is Latin for “darkness.” The fading darkness symbolizes the fading loyalty of Christ’s disciples. The music presented will be Hal Hopson’s Tenebrae: A Service of Darkness, and will feature an oboe soloist.
We will be at our own churches for Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday. So come to our church and wave some palms on Sunday, March 24 for Palm Sunday. Then, come celebrate the Resurrection on Sunday, March 31, Easter Sunday. After church, we will have a small Easter egg hunt for any kids who are here in the backyard of the church.
