There are a lot of moving parts in the plans for Youth Activities in October and some things have changed since we last published them.
Fun Fall Fête:
The Hay Ride/Weenie Roast/Spook Trail at the Patton compound is still ON for this Saturday, but the time has changed: to accommodate people who want to also attend other activities in Pauls Valley, we are starting at 6:00pm.
In addition to all the fun activities previously planned, we are going to be decorating pumpkins for the annual pumpkin auction to raise money to support our Haitian friends, Vidler and Chedeline. The pumpkins will be decorated with art supplies (not carved) by the kids. See more about this effort below.
Pumpkin Decorating and Auction:
As mentioned, kids will have an opportunity to decorate pumpkins on this Saturday at the Fun Fall Fête.
An additional Pumpkin decorating event will be held on Saturday, October 25th, in the basement at 12:00 noon--pizza will be served.
On Sunday, October 26th, immediately after church, all the pumpkins decorated by the kids will be auctioned off (silent-auction style) and the proceeds will go to the account that sponsors our Compassion International kids in Haiti.
Trunk-or-Treat:
Finally, our youth are invited to participate in the coordinated Ministerial Alliance Trunk-or-Treat on Halloween. Check out http://mapvok.blogspot.com for more details about the larger event and what other churches are doing. Our church will be giving out candy at the back of our trunks from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Halloween, Friday, October 31.
If you are decorating a car trunk for this event, let Chas know!
Chas has a big manic idea for decorating his trunk and there will be many opportunities to work on it with him, so no particular event has been scheduled. If any of the youth want to help decorate the trunk of Pastor Chas' car, let Chas know! Here's what last year's trunk turned out to be:

Chas' big manic idea for last year's Trunk-or-Treat: a Monstrous Princess Trunk Rumor is that this year might be a giant, terrifyingly cute axolotl!
You can donate candy for the Trunk-or-Treat event by bringing candy to any of the above youth events, or putting it in the Narthex box.
