The Music Continues

We all miss our talented, inspiring organist and choir director, the late Dr. Jack Bowman. For now, I am truly humbled (and a little overwhelmed) to be the interim music guy at FPC. I never thought I would be using my love of music this way. Admittedly, I have a lot to learn. Every week is a challenge, but I am committed. I know this is my time to serve.
Music is an important aspect of our community’s life. For one thing, the organ in our sanctuary is a magnificent instrument that has inspired worshipers for decades. In the hands of a trained organist, the sounds are nothing short of beautiful. FPC has a strong tradition of supporting good music for worship. In fact, what initially attracted me to this church was the music program under Jack.
I’m the first to admit that I am NOT Jack . . . and never will be. Still, I believe in the local church and the power of music to inspire, to comfort and to facilitate worship, self-reflection and spiritual growth. While we search for the next “Jack,” I CAN serve! And when we find the person God has for us, I will happily take my place again in the choir loft as a singer. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy the music that I and our faithful FPC singers provide. Thank you for your kind encouragement and worshipful participation until that time comes.
